WELCOME TO SF FOOTBALL 2010!
We are excited about the 2010 football season. The coaches, players, and Grid Club members have been diligently working this off-season to make the 2010 the best yet!
This past offseason has been filled with change, hard work, and excitement. Our players and coaches implemented a cutting edge, 30-week weight lifting program that resulted in tremendous gains in strength, conditioning, and speed. We have also worked very hard last year, with local businesses to produce the first ever ‘Grid Card’ fundraiser. With the dollars raised, we were able to purchase new game uniforms which will be a staple Saint Francis look for years to come. Our new jerseys represent our school, community, and football program well, and we are very grateful to our local businesses and all of our supporters who purchased the ‘Grid Card’; your investment in our program and the kids we serve is very important. THANK YOU!
The 2010 football season is a little different than most. We are in the first year of a new two year football schedule; as a result, we only have three home games this year. Please be sure to make the most of this season by supporting us when we are at home; our players and coaches love playing in front of our home crowd! Also remember to cheer loudly for your Saint Francis football team. Our football family has worked very hard to make this season the best it can possibly be; we love it when you recognize and support our efforts.
Lastly, our youth league is well underway with over 340 kids playing youth football. I would personally like to thank all of those involved for their efforts in helping to build a strong youth football program that our community is proud of! Thank you and remember this year’s theme:
“Never back down. Never give up.”

Head Football Coach

I am beginning my 12th year of coaching and 7th year of teaching; made possible by the support of my family (my wife Amy, our boys: Hayden, Hudson, and Hyatt, and my parents, Dale and Kathy.)
I began coaching football in 1996 at Saint Louis Park High School while I was in college studying to be an accountant. It did not take long before I realized that my passion was working with young people in an educational setting. So, I changed my major and I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2000 with a bachelors degree in Kinesiology and a minor in coaching. In 2001, I earned my Masters degree in Applied Kinesiology and went on to become a teacher in the Hopkins School District. While at Hopkins, I taught primarily at the high school and specialized in outdoor/experiential education. I continued to coach football at Hopkins and also began to coach track (pole vault.) Last season, I decided to make a change and I became the offensive coordinator at The Blake School. That change allowed me to work with some very good friends and with a quality head coach. All of these experiences have provided me with the knowledge and skills necessary to be the head coach in an outstanding football program and community here in St. Francis.
I am VERY excited about this amazing opportunity here at Saint Francis! We have an amazing coaching staff that has worked very hard during the coaching transition, and well into the summer. The dedication they have shown to our football program is second to none. Our student-athletes have also dedicated themselves both in the weight room and on the football field. Our booster club and youth football program is strong and both have the passion and desire to be top-notch organizations. All of these elements lead to one thing; a strong and successful football program that everyone is proud to be a part of! Lets have a great year.
